It is in all 50 States. It is in your neighborhood. It is in the current Administration. As a 21 year veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a Vietnam Veteran, I stand for my Country, My Flag, and my Brethren. To treat War as Country Building, Educating, and Affirming foreign lifestyles is ludicrous. Our leaders currently are not motivated to empower our military with the tools to end this conflict. Political correctness leads our Government to select leaders for their political correctness and not their Leadership abilities. I wholeheartedly agree that this is Truly About Our Unwillingness Globally to identify the enemy and the enemy is (I REPEAT: IS) Islam.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08100336855316615063noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5392104273993030430.post-53611096912737013142009-10-13T08:52:29.793-04:002009-10-13T08:52:29.793-04:00TW; I can't disagree that Iraq became a major ...TW; I can't disagree that Iraq became a major distraction. I do believe the original intent in that campaign was right though. I also believe we could have handled both. We just chose not to. The world is a dangerous place and getting more so by the day. With or without our involvement in Iraq two things are true; 1. We are going to be dealing with this problem, globally until Christ returns and, 2. The situation in Iraq is going to devolve into something sinister again. These people over there are doomed by their own ideology. You need to read 'Legacy of Jihad'. This is not about our political system anymore. This is about our unwillingness, globally to identify the enemy and the enemy is Islam; this from their own scribes and clerics.

SF

JBusmcwarriorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03519796561220860871noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5392104273993030430.post-839923107483216652009-10-09T01:16:27.673-04:002009-10-09T01:16:27.673-04:00Bush and all his right wing cronies deserted this ...Bush and all his right wing cronies deserted this war for their Iraq adventure, this is no longer just our war, and please explain to me when were Marines ever valued more than the local nationals, it's their country! My father didn't feel so valued in the Chosin. We put our lives on the line for the locals in Saudi, Somalia, Grenada, Beirut. That's the job, nothing is cut and dry or pretty. I volunteered for a reason and no D.C. rat or High brass will ever feel the joy of intense brotherhood that I shared serving in the Corps, marines helping out kids and old people regardless of the risk or nationality, not just serving the machine but doing what was right. Those whose frustration would like us to just kill and destroy, will also destroy the only thing that unites us, our passion for life. To look another marine in the eye and say don't worry we will make it- hang in there, I'm your brother always! We have already won, noboby can defeat us because we gave everything for each other. Nothing is fair, or just. I so miss my marine buddy, we didn't agree on many things but we experienced the joy of true selfless friendship. No politician can take that away! As a decorated marine cpl, I say the mission is washed up! We do not have enough hard chargers or money to keep this up. We have nothing left to prove. They ran, scatttered, are hiding. This war is endless, one rock pile after another.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12785290297544176789noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5392104273993030430.post-39817198238119772932009-10-06T13:56:27.794-04:002009-10-06T13:56:27.794-04:00Rob;

It is now painfully apparent that the current resident in the white house is being outclassed by the islamists in Afghanistan. He has not one clue about what to do and because of that doesn't know how to use the information he is being given to come to a conclusion. Let's not forget; job #1 is insuring his place in history.

McChrystal is either a true believer in COIN in which case he is a dreamer or he is being coerced by Gates an therefore the White House. If the latter is the case; I have even less respect for him. He needs to do the stand-up thing and remember he is a Warrior first and needs to protect our men from faulty reasoning and fatal strategy.

If 'they have won against perverse domestic politics and tremendous odds before', they need to stand up now. I don't see any evidence of that though. We need to keep fighting for our Warriors in the meantime. In general; I'm with you Rob.usmcwarriorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03519796561220860871noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5392104273993030430.post-59098295137162441132009-10-04T12:57:44.867-04:002009-10-04T12:57:44.867-04:00Afghanistan is important.

Now they are and 3000 dead Americans prove they can.

1st Sgt Bernard has my deepest respect. He and his fellow warriors have accomplished the almost impossible. Al Qaeda has been driven from Afghanistan, pulverized in Iraq and decimated in Pakistan. Ben Laden's son is dead. Our soldiers have done what we asked of them. For 8 long years, thanks to their sacrifice we have been safe.

The new ROE are an abomination. We are starting to lose good men, because of them. I share Sgt Bernard's frustration.

But, when I think back to the fights and victory at Fallujah, Armadi and Basra and what happened in Al Ambar, I realize our soldiers have not been losing, why think that they will now?

Our political leadership has gone wobbly.
The soft heads in the beltway, are clucking. They are attacking the CIA for protecting us. Our leaders are jetsetting off to Copenhagen.
Still we have the best soldiers and winning military leadership in Afghanistan, now.

Generals Petraeus and McKrystal have a history of killing our enemies. They have won against perverse domestic politics and tremendous odds before. Let them work.Robhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17649226784748605948noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5392104273993030430.post-63802026265944404382009-10-03T06:57:40.417-04:002009-10-03T06:57:40.417-04:00Kind of hard to remind ppl of anything when they a...Kind of hard to remind ppl of anything when they are not listening.
